Hunting and fishing for table fare and for fun, they enjoyed their daily life in the country. They met daily life with humor and tried to turn all of their chores into ways to have fun. Although they were small boys, they were remarkably self-sufficient. They always knew where to find wild berries and fruit to pick for jelly. They knew where the best rabbit and squirrel hunting was to be found and how to harvest them when needed. The boys team up with the sheriff to find and bring to justice the men who killed their friend's father, only to see justice take a strange twist.
