It is part two of his history of the Hudson's Bay Company; in this volume, we learn about the war for supremacy over the North American fur trade, and the territory ranging from San Francisco to the Beaufort Sea. The competition was between the Hudson's Bay's Fur Brigades, and their arch-rivals the Northwest Company, an incredible battle that remains the fiercest commercial feud in history.
