I was the eldest of seven children, born in the small town of Hollandale, Mississippi. We lived in the small town of Stringtown, Mississippi, where we worked as farmers. We relocated to the North in 1969, to Zion, Illinois, where I lived for twenty years. Here I was schooled, lived and grew into the beautiful woman that I am today, later married, had seven children of my own, became a Christian and devoted my life to my husband, children, and God. In 1989, we moved to Kenosha, Wisconsin, where my children were raised and finished school and are now living full lives. And I am a grandmother of ten beautiful grandchildren. I devoted my life to living for others as a Christian and in this through prayer found a solace of comfort and strength, always believing in the Word of God as my compass. When all of the children had graduated from school and home I decided to pursue a life of writing and have found it to be a source of comfort and enlightenment, an avenue to God, for healing and deliverance and a totally liberating source of love in Christ. May the readers of this book of poetry find the same fulfillment for life needs.<
