This volume presents the outcome of the research on internal migration impacts on agriculture in Bangladesh, which was carried out under Ph.D. program in Agricultural Economics and Rural Development, at the Justus Liebig University, Giessen, Germany. The study was conducted between 2011 and 2015 including a half year field survey in Bangladesh which led to the author a Ph.D. degree in July 2015. This study focuses on the rural-urban migration pattern and its consequences on farm production and farm household’s food security in rural Bangladesh. It explores the major factors of rural- urban migration at the farm household level. The economic reasons as well as socio-demographic factors are considered as the main motivation of the households to decide to place their members into cities. The study found that the labour loss of migration causes a negative influence on farm production. But the households with one or more migrant members are better off in terms of food security than households without migration.
