It is meant to introduce the basic concepts in linguistics to students with little knowledge about the course and other related fields of study. A quick glance at the book will give readers the impression that it is only providing basic knowledge on phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax and semantics, it rather goes beyond this to discuss theoretical and topical issues relevant to linguistic study.
