In Vol. III, two extra leaves, *H7 snf H8 pp.109*-112* are added, also a normal point Fleeman 79.4LP/7a, Courtney p.142, Chapman & Hazen p.159 "This edition, although almost completely neglected, is the only edition of importance after the first. It is the only edition which Johnson revised, and the last he lived to see," Chapman . "This is the second great work with which Johnson's name is generally associated. It was the simplest in style and expression of all his literary labours, the subject appealed to every man of letters in the three kingdoms, and it abounded in anecdote and in criticism," Courtney . With the armorial bookplate of John Lewis of Llanfihangel South Wales , and his signature on the title page of each volume.
